RIVE 2019 – the international electric vehicle event
On 4 and 5 July, RIVE (Rencontres Internationales des Voitures Ecologiques) 2019,was held in Alès, France. Olivier PORTIER, ASCA® Business Developer at Armor, attended the event accompanied by André SASSI (ACPV) and Gaël LAVAUD (Gazelle Tech) in order to present a joint project.
Reducing the carbon impact of travelling by re-inventing the electric vehicle
An innovative solar electric vehicle
Created in collaboration with ACPV, a sponsor of sustainable energy projects, and GazelleTech, the leading manufacturer of vehicles made entirely of composites, the objective of the project is to develop an ultra-light electric vehicle incorporating a retractable solar sheet covered with ASCA® organic photovoltaic films. Developed by ACPV, the sheet also offers a further advantage: it protects the car from external soiling, reducing the quantity of water required for cleaning.
This innovative example of OPV integration will benefit from the incredible flexibility of the ASCA® film while providing an additional source of energy and extending the autonomy of the vehicle. By exposing the vehicle with the sheet in place for 8 hours, its autonomy will be extended by up to 20km.
Other ideas to come to fruition for further reducing the impact of travelling
A recharging terminal concept is currently being analyzed for ACPV. The structure will incorporate both photovoltaics and wind power to minimize the use of electricity from the grid.
Participants were able to hold discussions with renowned guests such as Prince Albert II of Monaco and Carole Delga, President of the region of Occitania & Pyrenees-Mediterranean. We had the opportunity to present this concept of sustainable transport and the benefits it offers in the face of the current environmental challenges.
