Portrait of Moïra Asses
ARMOR’s employees are important to us, and we would like to tell you about some of them. Whether they work in research and development, production, design of tailor-made solutions, or business development, it is people who are the wealth of our company. For this first issue, we will meet Moïra Asses, Head of Marketing and Business Development for ARMOR’s organic photovoltaic division.
What made you choose ARMOR?
I trained as an engineer and my course was very international. I have always enjoyed bringing together technical product development and commercial relations with partners, in varied, multicultural contexts.
I joined ARMOR in September 2017 as Head of Marketing and Business Development for ARMOR’s organic photovoltaic line, and was excited about the Group’s long-term vision for socially responsible innovation and the promise of ASCA® as a disruptive technology for delivering virtually zero-carbon solar energy for all – anytime, anywhere.
The ARMOR Group has a strong sense of environmental responsibility. This chimes with my personal values. I am convinced that we can have economic development and care for the environment at the same time.
What is your role in the ASCA® team?
My role at ARMOR, within the ASCA® team, is to lead the Marketing and Business Development team. At the moment it has eight members whose roles are to promote, develop and market ASCA® organic photovoltaic technology.
In other words, I coordinate and support staff members on the marketing and communications side (events, print and digital media design, press) and the Business Development side (building strategic partnerships, meeting clients and managing projects in liaison with our design office).
How do you see organic photovoltaics and ASCA® evolving in the years to come?
There is no doubt organic photovoltaics, specifically ASCA® film, owing to its flexibility, lightness and semi-transparency, will cover many available surfaces to make them energy-producing.
Our alliance with the German company OPVIUS and “free-form” technology enables us to go even further in outstanding design and architecture.
With regard to ARMOR’s organic photovoltaic business, we see still more successes in the coming year with big projects, particularly in building and mobility, plus a geographical development on the African continent and in the MENA region.
2020 will also see further advances in the performance of the technology and completion of our work towards acquiring building certification.
Our ambition is for organic photovoltaics to become more and more common in our everyday environment, and for ASCA® to be the market leader.
